Newfield are Guiness World Record Breakers!

Back in February, we took part in the Sign2Sing world record break attempt, and today we found out that Guinness have confirmed the new Guinness World Record of the most people performing sign language simultaneously to the same song in different locations to be 116,980 beating the old record by 2,703!
Our participation and evidence made that possbile so well done and congratulations us!

This year’s leavers had a wonderful day out to Witton Park where they looked at some small animals, had a lovely stroll in the sun past the pond and then had lunch on the picnic tables. Afterwards, the pace really picked up at the bowling lane with everyone having a go at ten pin bowling…

This evening, our now annual Prom took place for our pupils in the 16-19 phase. The theme chosen by our leavers this year was ‘Bollywood’. Our hall has been transformed into a magical Bollywood arena, complete with swagging, flowers, ballons and archways…and even our very own life size baby elephant!

Today, Newfield celebrated achieving level 1 of the Rights Respecting Schools Award by holding a beach party, which was the idea of the RRSA steering group pupil members. The whole school enjoyed a beach party lunch, which was followed by games including ‘pass the parcel’, ‘musical statues’ and ‘surprise beach volleyball’…
