SEN Teacher

Are you a Class Teacher committed to improving the lives of children and young people?

We are looking for a teacher to work in our School for Autism who will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises children’s achievement and ability to develop. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure. Newfield School is an impressive, well-resourced special school situated in Blackburn, Lancashire providing high quality specialist education, care and therapy for children and young people aged 2 - 19 years with a wide range of learning difficulties including Autism, PMLD, SLD, complex medical needs, sensory impairments and physical disabilities.

Are you a positive, driven individual who enjoys supporting families with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities? Do you have the courage to get to the end of the tunnel and witness outstanding progress with children? Are you an inclusive practitioner willing to go the extra mile for children and their families? Then we would love to hear from you! Your role is to support children and families, empowering them to get the most out of the education opportunities available to them We would like someone to join us who will support the Designated Safeguarding Leads with child protection and will lead on supporting and engaging children and their families. You will oversee aspects of the daily child protection system, referrals to/liaison with external agencies; develop strategies to promote good attendance for hard-to-reach families and work directly with children and their families to offer support and guidance to parents on how best to support their child’s education. You will need to be confident and able to work sensitively with students, computer literate, with strong written and communication skills, and have the ability to work both as part of team, as well as using your own initiative.
