Governor

The Governors are seeking to appoint a Co-opted Governor.

Governors play an important part in maintaining and developing the character of schools. You do not need any formal qualifications to be a Governor, you must be over 18 and have appropriate relevant skills and experience, an interest in education, a commitment to prepare for and attend meetings, conduct school visits and attend training are as important.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about education, enthusiastic about schools and dedicated to the community with some spare time.

Education Health Care Assistant

Education Health Care Assistants – Grade C - Permanent 32.5 hours

£24,027 to £24,790 pro rata salary range

£12.45 to £12.85 per hour Part Time working patterns may be considered

The working patterns that can be considered are;

Monday to Friday - 8.30am to 12.30pm

Monday to Friday – 12.00noon to 3.30pm

or

8.30am to 3.30pm – 3, 4 or 5 full days

Newfield School is an impressive, well-resourced special school situated in Blackburn, Lancashire providing high quality specialist education, care and therapy for children and young people aged 4 - 19 years with a wide range of learning difficulties including autism, PMLD, SLD, complex medical needs, sensory impairments and physical disabilities.

We are looking to appoint a number of enthusiastic and committed Education Health Care Assistants to join our busy, demanding and rewarding school, starting in February 2025.

Under the direction of teachers and senior staff, you will provide support to individuals and groups of children to access outcomes as outlined in each individual’s Education Health Care Plan.

You will support pupil’s education, health, medical, physical and general care needs following agreed plans, promote effective communication for all pupils using a range of agreed strategies e.g.: Makaton, PECS, communication aides etc. and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.

Whilst we particularly welcome applicants with experience of working with children and young people, it is more important that you have a child centred approach in working with our very special children as a full programme of training and development will be provided.

Please see details of working pattern below to be worked 39 weeks per year during term time including 5 annual professional development full days:

Hours per week 32.5

• Working Pattern – 8.30am to 3.30pm each day

• Actual Salary £18,262 - £18,842 based on 32.5 hrs working part time during term time

You will also be required to work until 5 pm on six occasions per year in order to undertake training and meet with your class team – these dates will be planned in advance and you will have plenty of notice.

Medical Needs Co-Ordinator

Medical Needs Co-Ordinator – Grade D - Permanent

22.5 hours

£24,790 to £25,992 pro rata salary range

£12.85 to £13.47 per hour

We are looking to appoint a Medical needs Co - Ordinator to join our busy and rewarding school starting in February 2025.
The postholder will work closely with school staff and stakeholders to support the medication processing and understanding in school such as feeds, medication, postural management, suction, personal care, and the administration records systems e.g. MARS charts.
We would welcome applicants with experience of working with children and young people who have complex medical health care needs, good administration and organisation skills and an understand of care plans e.g. EHCP and medical care plans. Please see details of working pattern below to be worked 39 weeks per year during term time including 5 annual professional development full days:

Hours per Week – 22.5

• Working Pattern – 8.30am to 1.30pm each day

• Actual Salary £13,246 - £13,889 based on working part time during term time

You will also be required to work 3-5 pm on six occasions per year in order to undertake training and meet with your class team – these dates will be planned in advance and you will have plenty of notice.
