On Friday 23rd June we were delighted to welcome into school Leanne Doherty who is an Assessor for the Leading Parent Partnership Award. Today we marked the very special, historical event of the Coronation of King Charles III at Newfield. Staff and pupils had dressed for the occasion in red, white and blue; we have decorated school and are all set for the run up to the big day tomorrow. In the morning, we had re-enactments of the Coronation, with pupils taking on the roles of the King, the Queen Camilla and the Archbishop of Canterbury. There was lots of flag waving, cheering and placing of crowns and orbs! At lunchtime the catering team had prepared a traditional chippy lunch…

Today the Newfield Family celebrated Eid in school. In the morning, there were a number of activities taking place in the hall including henna hand painting, moon & star biscuit decoration, art activities, a Wudu experience - cleansing before prayer, fruit tasting including breaking our fast with dates and a Big Mack Islamic phrases communication activity.
