Learning to love learning!

We have had a very busy first half term all over school, with lots of new children settling into learning here for the first time.

This week some of our littlest learners in Squirrel have really enjoyed using their outdoor area to its fullest!

Even in the rain they have persevered, suited up and got outside to enjoy their play spaces.

They investigated making dens and enjoyed sitting in them and have been using the outdoor construction blocks to build towers, making balancing trails and ramps to drive cars down. They have also enjoyed using the sand and water area, working on transportations the sand and water using different tools, pouring and scooping, and building shapes and sandcastles.

In Olive Class our older students have been to our new 4D studio and have been learning about the water cycle, including how clouds are made. The students really enjoyed exploring the interactive floor.

And this week, on Wednesday some of our post 16 learners attended a fund-raising coffee morning at St Aidan’s, which is an adult respite centre in Blackburn.

The students who attended represented school amazingly, working on their independence skills by buying cakes from their stall and interacting with staff. They all had a great time.
