This afternoon we were delighted to have so many of our families join us to spend time in classes with their young people and visit our brand new complex needs area of school.
Building work on this took place during last academic year, and this was finally ready to open to students at the start of September.
The new area comprises 5 classrooms which are slightly larger than our other rooms, to accommodate the equipment that this group of youngsters need, as well as having fantastic hoisting facilities, ensuite changing rooms and a really nice bright, airy feel.
Everyone is settling in well, and we were able to host parents, brothers and sisters and other family members in classes, to see the environment, resources and what their children are getting up to in the new space.
We had made cakes, and our guests visited Dolphin class where they could have a cuppa, a sweet treat, and a chance to chat and meet other parents.
We had asked our guests to bring something with them to brighten up our new outdoor space - each classroom has a nice big outside area that is crying out for some development! We ended up with plants, outdoor decorations and some nice gardening products that will help us to make a start…
We had a lovely afternoon and we are looking forward to inviting families in again soon.
