The Park @ Newfield

This week our long awaited new outdoor play and regulation area has finally been ready for students to use - it has been under development for quite a while and our students have been very excited to use it. It has been fantastic to see students accessing the space so positively.

There were some brilliant interactions between students, staff and the equipment, and it was lovely to see pupils showing real challenge, perseverance, confidence and enjoyment throughout their first visits to the area.

A number of our students have already started referring to the space as “The Park”, which feels very fitting - so that is what we will now call it.

We will be ordering some all-weather signage for the equipment to support engagement, expectations and interactions between students and staff.

Once we have an appropriate weather window, we have further developments to our outdoor spaces, with a bike/scooter track also being completed.

Discussions are already in place for Phase Two, which will include further functional learning and forest school areas.
