Outreach Visits within school and to Appletrees

This week, C5 had the first of their visits to Appletrees. Many of you will know that Appletrees in an outstanding service in Blackburn that provides short breaks to children with disabilities, who have problems sleeping - this gives parents and carers a well earned break, and supports children to develop skills outside of home and school.

We work closely with the staff at Appletrees, and they have kindly allowed us to go and use the fantastic outside play space and facilities.

C5 were superstars at transitioning on the bus. They accessed the outdoor area, and loved the play house, swings, bikes and go karts. They are really excited to go again - the first adventure for these young learners!

Back in school, some of TG3 and 4 boys have been working jointly with TG1 for music and helping with parachute games. It was lovely to see relationships blossoming between the classes and all enjoyed music and the parachute after, with the boys also learning how they can help other students.

Some of TG3 have also been going to help with the younger classes, helping the younger pupils move around school. They have really enjoyed being with the younger students and helping in class.  As a reward, and because part of their ASDAN this half term is keeping healthy, while the sun was shining they walked to the local park and enjoyed using the equipment.
