A Week of Wellbeing

This week although we have been very busy learning all of school, we have also had some lovely opportunities to take time out to relax and look after our well-being.

Each month one of our pre-formal classes has a slot at the Space Centre in Preston where they can focus on developing independence visiting a new setting and exploring the fantastic sensory spaces.

Pupils from C12 had their turn this week and had a brilliant time - teacher Becky said that they had all coped really well with this new adventure and we can see form the photos that they all had a wonderful time!

On Wednesday we held our half termly staff welding breakfast, where our wonderful wellbeing warriors - Linsey, Sharon and Mel - organise, prepare and serve toast, crumpets, pastries, juices and hot drinks for our staff to enjoy together and have a catch up before the children come to school.

And finally, on Friday we held a coffee morning for the parents of our year 14 students - we wanted to give parents the chance to meet and exchange contact details, so that they can promote the continuation of the friendships that their young people have made, once they leave Newfield for adult life. It was lovely to see parents chatting and we will do this again before July so that families can make those important links with each other.

It’s Friendly February, so make sure you look after yours, and others wellbeing this month!
