Today we held special assemblies to commemorate Remembrance Day for pupils in Primary this morning, and Secondary and Post 16 this afternoon. We also held a minutes reflection at 11am, with the last post being played in all classes and areas of school via our telephone system, helping everyone to focus on remembering quietly at the same time.
All pupils had been working in class to make poppies - using their fantastic creative skills to use lots of different media to recreate the flowers, which they then brought to their assemblies and placed on the walls and on our soldier display.
S4 had been taking part in sensory activities linked to poppies before doing their artwork.
S8 have been learning all about the importance and meaning of Remembrance Day, and to celebrate they made poppy wreaths and ‘Poppy themed’ rosemary and cheese bread.
Pupils have been showcasing their fantastic life skills and independence skills following visual instructions to complete their tasks.
