CAFT Residential day 2

Our Secondary residential students and staff report that they’ve had another brilliant day! Here is the update from AHT Lois who is leading the visit…

Our day started very early with breakfast in the farmhouse. Once we were dressed, we headed straight to the sports hall — it was amazing! The bouncy castle slide was a huge hit. Lots of energy was spent climbing the bouncy stairs and then zooming down the slide — it was so much fun!

Later, we met up with some friends who had come for a day trip. Some of us explored the sensory room, while others took some time to chill out in the relaxing space.

We had lunch in the BBQ area, and then it was off to the playground. The zip wire was a massive favourite with everyone! The weather has been kind to us again — dry, sunny, and just perfect for a full day outdoors. The forest and woodland areas were brilliant to explore, with so much to see and do.

In the woodland area, we also had another fire pit going — and of course, we toasted marshmallows! It was such a cosy and fun moment, with lots of sticky fingers and happy faces.

For tea, we had a real treat — pizza, chicken nuggets, chips, and salad. Earlier in the afternoon, we had made some chocolate rice crispy cakes, so we enjoyed those for dessert!

In the evening, it was back out for more fun on the zip wire, swings, and playground. When it was time to wind down, we got into our pyjamas and gathered in the living room for a game of bingo. We had planned a film night with popcorn, but most of the pupils were so tired after such a full and exciting day that they chose to head to bed early instead!

We are all well and truly tired out, but we’ve had a fabulous time today — full of laughter, fun, and unforgettable moments.
