Exciting New Explorers Outdoor Provision

Today was a fantastic day at Newfield as we opened our brand-new Explorers Outdoor Provision! Our pupils had an amazing time discovering all the exciting new areas, and it was wonderful to see their excitement as they explored their new outdoor learning space.

The new climbing frame and bike track were a huge hit, offering plenty of opportunities for physical challenges and adventurous play. The sand and water area also proved to be a favourite, with children digging, pouring, and splashing as they explored different textures and materials.

Designed to be inclusive for all children, the playground features different zones to encourage a wide range of play experiences. From construction and messy play to areas designed for physical development, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

A standout feature of the new provision is the beautifully coloured shelters, which not only provide shade and protection from the rain but also reflect the bold primary colours of the Newfield logo. This vibrant addition makes the space feel bright, welcoming, and perfectly in keeping with the school’s identity.

We have already had some success stories, as one pupil used his voice to say ‘water’ to ask for more water which is a high achievement for this pupil.

A big thank you to Eden Play who have helped us through all stages of the project. The pupils made sure they said a big thank you, presenting them with a handmade card to show their appreciation for their new play space.

This fantastic new outdoor space will give our pupils the chance to build confidence, develop social skills, communication opportunities and engage in outdoor learning all year round. We can’t wait to see them continue to explore, create, and thrive in their new environment!
