Physical Skills and Pancake Day

Children had a flipping good time today, using their literacy, communication and physical skills, having a go at making pancakes for Shrove Tuesday!

Some children enjoyed making choices of fillings to make their own delicious treats.

Some enjoyed reading the recipe to make the batter, but by far the most enjoyment and laughter came from everyone trying to coordinate their movement with the pan and the pancake to flip and catch the pancakes.

Beyond using fine and gross motor skills to make pancakes, C6 were practicing their physical skills on the sensory playground.

They demonstrated strength, determination and enjoyment whilst learning to step, climb and balance.

Some of our younger children were also using their independence and physical skills to make sandwiches and then enjoy a picnic outside in the spring sunshine.

What a lovely day!
