Art in the Curriculum

We have had a very creative week in school with children exploring and creating some fantastic pieces of artwork which illustrate their learning.

In S3 they have been looking at artist Jackson Pollock in their work towards the arts award this week and have used one of his methods of painting using marbles to create some planets linked to the secondary term theme which is Space and Planets.

They all worked independently and picked their own colours and patterns to create their own space galaxy.

We are very impressed with how amazingly they have all worked and their out of this world artwork!

In S4 they have been learning about the oceans as part of their animals and their habitats topic.

They made bubble wrap printed fish and painted corals and starfish.

They unwrapped some bath scrunchies to make seaweed and finished it off with some bubble printing over our fish.

Everyone was really happy to see it all completed and it’s another great example of our children’s creativity.
