Halloween Experience 2024

Today we have had a fantastic day in school with lots of experiences linked to Halloween. Lots of children and staff came dressed up - we had cats, witches, zombies, pumpkins and lots of other costumes - everyone looked great and we were impressed with how much effort had been put into the outfits - very creative!

This morning we had a Halloween Enterprise, where all children and staff were able to buy items made by our secondary and tutor group classes, ranging from stuffed pumpkins, biscuits, light up pumpkin decorations, ‘spooky’ sweet bags, ‘mummy’ sausage rolls, fruit loaf, ‘petrifying’ popcorn cups.

All over school classes were given bags for children to decorate in preparation for the main event - there was lots of fun as everyone took part in trick or treat - visiting neighbouring classrooms, using communication and independence skills to get some goodies and give a few scares!

Classes produced artwork, played pumpkin skittles, enjoyed themed computing and sensory activities.

TG1 enjoyed exploring the witches hat and broom whilst their friends came ‘trick or treat’-ing at our door.

Class 2 have enjoyed trick or treating and Halloween wheelchair dancing this afternoon - the children loved the role play!

S4 enjoyed a spooky story this morning then sang Halloween songs and decorated trick or treat bags. This afternoon they turned the lights off, put a candle in their pumpkin lantern and tried the witches hat on!

In the afternoon there was a choice of Halloween themed wheelchair dance or disco for both our younger and older children - so everyone could burn off some of the energy and sweets!

We’ve had a spooktacular day!
