World Mental Health Day 2024

This World Mental Health Day we have been celebrating and raising awareness of mental health by doing lots of different activities to make us feel good… we chatted with friends and colleagues, we did sports, we got creative with lots of arts and crafts activities.

Children and adults all around school have done different things - we even invited parents and had a good turn out for a coffee and chat session this afternoon, for parents to relax and share some time together - served by our older students. We also welcomed Stonyhurst students for our weekly wheelchair dance session, which always lifts everyone’s spirits.

Here are just some of the things we’ve been up to - and the photos show what a lovely time everyone has had!

Class 7 have shared a story about our feelings. They then expressed themselves through painting and music before joining in with some chair yoga to help them feel happy and relaxed to support their mental health. It has been a wonderful, creative morning.

TG3 chilled out doing what they each like - shopping, iPad, foot spa, reading… what fun!

C5 loves their turn taking games with our friends and a relaxing dance massage in the afternoon.

S7 have made and decorated a cake for Aaron’s birthday.

TG1 enjoyed some lovely wellbeing activities, baking scones this morning followed by a lovely afternoon outside, having a walk through the sensory garden and taking time to stop, rest and reflect in the pergola.

C11 enjoyed forming friendships and massaging each other for Mental Health day.

C3 listened to the story Lucy’s Blue Day about different colours representing different emotions. Then they painted emoji faces using different colours.

In S4 the girls love helping in class and particularly enjoys doing jobs with each other. They both helped staff with the laundry and stopped to say hello to nurse Helen on the way back to class.

Happy World Mental Health Day!
