Developing Outdoor Spaces

B and Q came into school today to help us to designing develop one of our outdoor spaces in the primary age phase.

They painted flowers and trees on the walls, painted some of the musical outdoor equipment and refreshed our pergola with bright colours.

They also planted up pots with herbs and decorated different areas with ornamental flowers, butterflies and a big clock.

The Post 16 classes helped and enjoyed themselves as part of their work related learning, working alongside the staff from B and Q.

We would like to say a big thank you to the volunteers from the Blackburn B and Q store and the company itself for giving us their time, hard work and donating £1000 towards the project. Thanks also to teacher Tracy who applied for the community project and coordinated the work.

We think it looks a lot better outside now and we are excited to use the space!
