Today is the annual European Day of Languages and we celebrated by holding a Languages Fair in the morning.
Each class had chosen a country to represent and had explored artefacts, food and culture of their country, in order to present a staff at the fair to teach other classes about what they had learn.
Lots of countries and languages were represented including France, India, Japan, United States of America, Ireland, Mexico and more. The cowboy hats and cheerleading went down well with many of the students and USA provided kits for everyone to make s’mores in class.
We even had an ‘I’m a Celebrity…’ activity going on to represent Australia - complete with bush tucker trial.
In the afternoon pupils were invited to take part in ‘WorldVision’ - Newfield’s answer to the Eurovision song contest, where everyone could watch performances from some countries and join in with some singing, dancing and good times showcasing music from around the globe!
Thank you all very much for the effort that went into Languages Day. The students all looked like they enjoyed it and the food that was available to taste was amazing.
