At Newfield we use Twinkl phonics as part of our approach to support children in learning to read and spell. Classes have been settling back into this since beginning the new school year, and some primary classes have begun streaming phonics groups to support pupil individual progress.
These classes run sensory level 1 sessions, level 2 early readers and a level 3 and above group who are ready to develop their skills.
The children have taken really well to this and have engaged beautifully in interactive and targeted opportunities to learn in line with their level of understanding.
We mix a range of Twinkl phonics activities with other supporting activities and games including tricky words songs and interactive games to embed and consolidate skills.
