End of Year Farewells

Today was the last day of the academic year for our pupils and for our class of 2024 it was their final day at Newfield.

We celebrated their time with us at our leavers assembly this morning where parents and families joined us to share in the successes, the happy memories and wish them all the very best of luck for the future in their new placements.

There were some tears but also lots of smiles and laughter as we watched the leavers video.

There was a final surprise when a video was played of the team from Just Imagine UK (who had entertained us earlier in the week at our first Newfield Festival) singing a special song just for the class of 2024 with lyrics written by our talented assistant head Lois!

Some of our much younger pupils in E2 also celebrated the end of the year with a graduation ceremony in class this morning, the children all looked the part with their caps on.

It was lovely to welcome parents to the event in order to celebrate their children’s work and achievements over the past year, the children were presented with medals and certificates and lots of applause.

They ended with cake and soft drinks outside in the sunshine, and then had a play altogether.

We also said goodbye to teacher Louise, Claire and Tara who leave us for exciting new opportunities - they promise they will stay in touch and hold Newfield in their hearts; as well as Nick - brew maker and note taker - who leaves us for a semi retirement in Greece!

We would like to wish everyone a very happy summer holidays and look forward to seeing you for another exciting Newfield Year in September!
