Newfield Festival 2024

Today we had a whole school wide celebration during our first ever end of year Newfield Festival day. We have had so much going on around school.

Outside in the sensory garden we had Paris Bubbles performer Tony, who shared with us big bubbles, foaming bubbles and steam filled bubbles. Everyone absolutely loved it! The weather held off for us to enjoy the festival vibes outside.

This morning we also had a very special visitor to school, the one and only Taylor Swift (tribute) graced us with her presence to exclusively perform for our pupils. We danced, we sang and we took a lot of Swifty selfies!

In one of our halls we had Circus Sensible teaching us some circus skills, pupils practiced balancing, juggling and hoola hooping. Again everyone had a great time clowning around.

This afternoon The Greatest Show arrived at school and pupils again got to perform and dance along to some classic songs from the show. Lots of pupils took a turn on the mic to join in with singing and dancing.

A big thank you to Just Imagine UK for their excellent performances throughout the day.

Across school we had lots of other events going on and the energy and excitement was magic, everyone had a fantastic time and school has been absolutely buzzing with positive vibes, colour and music.

The Music Man (aka Peter Adamson) visited lots of classes to perform some hit songs.

Selfie stations were across school so pupils could dress up, strike a pose and snap a photo.

Outside we had carnival games, including hook a duck, coconut shy, tug of wars, limbo and other ring toss and throwing style games.

Pupils have also been busy making their own tote bags and we also had a spa station with sensory lights and foots spas that lots of classes enjoyed relaxing in after a busy day of dancing.

Pupils enjoyed lunch in classes with their friends and some classes ate outside. Our primary aged pupils had a teddy bears picnic theme and even had a visit from a bear. Our secondary pupils had their party lunches too and we all followed lunch with ice creams and sorbets which we decorated with our choice of toppings.

Everyone has embraced our enrichment activities today, lots of pupils really enjoyed accessing a range of new experiences and being willing to have a go!

A big thank you to all our performers and staff who have helped make this day a success, and a huge thank you to one of our new assistant head teachers Katrina for pulling the whole festival together! The question on everyone’s lips is… When is the next one?!

My class had a brilliant day, thank you everyone for organising. Seeing my teenagers at a ‘gig’ was a real highlight.
