On Wednesday 5th June we had a visit from Blackburn library staff as part of the Children’s Literature Festival 2024.
The idea behind the festival is to encourage every child regardless of culture, background or ability to be immersed in reading and writing through enjoyable interactive sessions.
Blackburn with Darwen library staff used picture books for interactive storytelling (incorporating a robotic cat), a selection of multisensory bag books and other activities such as scarf play, ribbon dancing and sound exploration.
Sessions were run in our sensory studio, and classes that accessed the sessions had a wonderful time.
