Eid Celebrations at Newfield 24

We were all very happy to get back to school yesterday after a nice Easter break - and many of us celebrated Eid also during the holidays at home with our families.

Today, we celebrated Eid Ul Fitr in school with our Newfield Family!

Children and staff came dressed in party clothes, sparkly clothes and had a lovely day.

We had special assemblies in the morning, where we learnt about the Holy month of Ramadan, we learnt about the moon sighting and then how we can then celebrate Eid ul Fitr.

We tried some special foods like Dates, Eid biscuits and an Eid drink made with milk. We listened to a special Eid prayer.

At the end of the assembly some staff demonstrated different dances, so we all danced and enjoyed our time with our friends.

In classes we did lots of Eid based activities including colouring islamic patterns, decoration biscuits and making table decorations for the delicious curry lunch that we had. some children practiced mehndi designs before painting it on cardboard cutouts of their hands.

In the afternoon we enjoyed special discos where we could dance with our friends - and some of us enjoyed having our hands painted with traditional henna patterns.

We hope you have had a lovely Eid too!
