This morning our youngest pupils performed in ‘A Wiggly Nativity’ for an audience of very proud family members - mums, dad, aunties, grand parents, siblings - along with our equally proud senior leadership team and chair of governors Sara Barr-Frost.
Our host for the morning was Katrina, who is our Explorers lead and who had directed the performance which was quite simply amazing!
Many of the children were new to school in September and they danced, sang and joined in the acting in front of a large audience with confidence and joy. It was wonderful to see their independence at such an early age.
The wiggly Nativity had everything you would expect - Mary & Joseph cradling baby Jesus, an amazing donkey helping them find shelter, a host of animals, 3 wise men, groups of angels, dancing stars and one of the highlights had to be the sheep and shepherds!
Classes were all dressed up and had made props, scenery and recorded the narration to the story which played on a backdrop which also showed their artwork.
The children were delightful, happy to see mummies and daddies but then return to their performances. There were a few tears as it was a moving occasion, and laughter from the odd rogue sheep!
The parents were so proud to see how well the children did, and stayed afterwards for photos and refreshments.
Well done to our fantastic Explorers children, the devoted staff who supported them and thanks to our families who joined us for this lovely event.
