Independence Skills for Older Students

This week our older students have been busy working on their independence skills.

At the harvest assembly, one group provided all of the refreshments for parents and guests.

They made tea and coffee, served people and offered around biscuits - which our younger guests were very happy about as you can see in the photo. At the end they had a nice cuppa themselves before tidying it all up - how great is that?!

Another group enjoyed a visit to the local park where they were able to access the equipment and relax in a bit of sunshine.

They managed to behave really well out in the community and enjoyed the space and being able to relax with the staff.

Finally, one young man wanted to have a TEAMS meeting, so on Friday afternoon he met with deputy Jenny to tell her what he’d been up to - at the end, he said ‘Well, it’s 1.50pm now so I’ve got to go to group. Thanks and goodbye’ - what a polite, organised young man.
