On Thursday Julie Leverton and Joeann Flannigan from the Learning Disability Health Facilitation nursing team came into school to do a workshop on annual health checks for some of our older students.
All people with learning disabilities are entitled to an annual health check with their GP.
The ladies brought in lots of different items to show our students about health checks from showing us how our bodies work and the anatomy of our bodies.
They demonstrated what happens when you get a health check and what healthy means.
We had access to weights and height checks. We even looked at what healthy wee and poo looks like! We were left with goody bags to take away.
It was really interesting and fun - thanks to the nurses for joining us, and for offering to come back into school again.
