Learning in the Community

Lots of classes have been able to go out to venues in the community this week and have been able to enjoy activities and develop their independence, thanks to our HLTA Dawn organising and planning regular outreach activities.

S4 went to home bargains and were very excited to be making choices, stretching to reach items they wanted and using their skills to pay at the till.

On Wednesday and Thursday of this week classes 2 and 5 have enjoyed spending time out in the community somewhere different for the first time.

They have been to Appletrees to use their fantastic playground and thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities on offer.

They used the play equipment, tried riding bikes, played with a water pistol and played basketball - they have had great fun and worked on a variety of physical skills through play.

they enjoyed meeting some of the Appletrees staff and they are really looking forward to going again next week!

We’ve had lots of happy faces as you can see in the photos.
