Eid Mubarak 2023

Today the Newfield Family celebrated Eid in school. In the morning, there were a number of activities taking place in the hall including henna hand painting, moon & star biscuit decoration, art activities, a Wudu experience - cleansing before prayer, fruit tasting including breaking our fast with dates and a Big Mack Islamic phrases communication activity.

There was also a fantastic sensory mosque experience in one of our pods, where children could use prayer mats and artefacts to pray whilst listening to our wonderful student Yahya reciting prayer.

Children had spent time at the end of last week decorating special Eid place mats and making some table decorations which they then enjoyed today with a delicious lunch of curry, chips, naan bread, samosas and onion bhajis made by our catering team, who had also made some amazing cookies with a special Eid stamp!

This afternoon, as with all celebrations at Newfield, we had a disco, with Lynx acting as mix master - it was a lively celebration and we all had a lovely time celebrating Eid in our nice clothes, with our friends.
