I came across an article yesterday advertising the offer of a relaxed performance of Back to the Future Musical. After further investigation it seems that many theatres offer relaxed performances aimed at those with sensory processing difficulties or someone with Autism.
They are described as follows;
Significant adjustments to sounds and lighting
House lights will be kept on (but low) during the performance
Building adjustments and chill out zones around the theatre
Trained and friendly staff, cast and theatre teams
Relaxed theatre rules
If your child enjoys music and performance but would find visiting a theatre too overwhelming, have a look for a relaxed show.
