We spend lots of our time supporting children and young people with their personal development, as this is a particularly important are to aide independence.
Earlier this term, in TG3 students have been looking at friendship and how we are all different.
As part of this learning, they have taken part in disability awareness sessions, which aim to help us to think about what it is like to experience different types of disability.
Some have had a go pushing themselves, or being pushed in a wheelchair, some used blindfolds and travelled around school to experience what it feels like for some of their peers with visual impairments everyday.
They also explored resources to say if we could recognise the objects while wearing blind folds and not being able to see what they were. All of this helps them to have a better understanding of other people.
As well as looking after people, we learn about looking after our environment.
Students in TG2 have been looking after their school and community and helping to keep it tidy by litter picking around the grounds.
They collected rubbish, sorted it when some of it could be recycled, and then disposed of it properly - we want to encourage everyone to take responsibility for things!
