Lifeskills Learning

We love to promote our children’s independence and do lots of work around developing lifeskills.

Lots of classes have been making use of the new shop that has conveniently opened just across the road from our Autism building.

It’s provided a great, very local, opportunity for children to practise road safety, money skills, choice making and communication!

This morning S1 walked to the local shop to buy ingredients for simple pizzas and then they took them back to school and used their cooking skills to make them in class.

The children were very polite in the shop, crossed the road safely and walked sensibly along the pavement.

Everyone enjoyed squeezing, chopping, grating and putting them together to make a tasty meal. - fantastic independence skills! We think the shop is probably quite happy about all the custom they are getting too!
