Science at Newfield

This half term our curriculum theme is based around scientific exploration.

There have been lots of experiments going on both in and out of the class room this week, with children finding out all about the effects of gravity, nature and scientific properties.

S2 have been exploring and creating dens from natural woodland items as part of their forest school experience, they really enjoyed bringing the nature from outside in!

Meanwhile S3 have been having fun investigating forces. They now know that all forces are essentially a push or a pull, and they have been taking a closer look at upthrust and gravity - look at the photo of the hair dryer forcing the ball up against gravity! They have also explored surface tension, items that sink and items that float.

There have been lots of interesting activities and tonnes of fun for our budding scientists!
