Today we held our annual Christmas Fair and what a fantastic, lively morning we had.
There was the wonderful Corus Brass Band playing throughout, and even singing along at times, which creates a wonderful festive atmosphere. We had lots of visitors, families and friends of Newfield who were able to enjoy a wide range of stalls - lots of Christmas gifts and decorations made by the children, tombolas, games, name the elf, teddy tombola, toy stalls, book stalls, and lots of sweet treats.
We had Father Christmas with us who all the children love seeing in his igloo. The cafe did a great trade feeding everyone and keeping the kettle going to prepare hot drinks. The RRSA Tombola raised over £50 for the orphanage school we support in Kenya.
It was wonderful to see so many mums, dads, aunties, uncle’s, grandparents, siblings, babies and staff’s families too, along with the Mayor of Blackburn, our chair of governors Sara and all of the extended Newfield Family - everyone had a really lovely time and it got us all in the mood for the Christmas activities to come over the next 2 weeks left in school.
Thanks to everyone for supporting this event, particularly all of our sponsors who donated prizes for the amazing raffle, Corus Brass and our families and staff, who have all worked so hard to make it a success which raises money for our school fund to provide treats for the children. We have managed to raise a huge grand total of £1477!
This morning, Buddy the Elf was found sitting on the piano in the Blackburn Hall, with Arsalaan, Finlay and Minhaj spotting him first and claiming their prize!
