On Thursday we were delighted to host a cluster meeting for colleagues who also work within the Inclusion Quality Mark framework.
Our visitors from a range of other flagship inclusion schools were absolutely blown away by Newfield
They took part in MOVE and Disability Awareness sessions and spent time in some classes and touring the school - with some students showing them round and talking about what they think of school.
They were feeding back in effusive terms using words like ‘aspirational’ and ’inspirational’ and the day had really made them reflect on what they can do in their own settings to better meet needs of SEND children.
They reported how friendly, welcoming and happy all the children and staff were.
Special thanks to Sharon, Aimie, Louise T and Terence, Suha and Minhaj for ensuring our visitors had such a fantastic day!
Below are some direct quotes:
“Amazing day, the MOVE in the morning was amazing and made us realise we have to aim higher for our students who may be in wheel chairs”
“Disability awareness was excellent. It made me realise how powerful and important communication is with the young person/child.”
“…while in disability awareness training it highlighted my understanding about what fine motor difficulties may appear like and also the importance of giving students time to process what we have asked them to do.”
“Don’t care what Ofsted said, YOUR SCHOOL IS AMAZING”
Thanks to everyone involved for a brilliant day!
