Halloween and Birthday Celebrations

It’s been a busy first week back after our half term break! We are learning within the theme of ‘celebrations’ this half term.

On Monday, S4 enjoyed exploring lots of items in their Halloween tray and creating our pumpkin lantern. They saved the pumpkin flesh to chop and stir with other ingredients to make spiced pumpkin soup.

On Wednesday S2 and S5 shared a birthday party as an introduction to our theme of celebrations. These two pre-formal classes chose this as an opening event for our theme as it is the first celebration that we all participate in. Classes had prepared party food, played games and we even squeezed in the time for a little disco with party music from across the ages.

They also got to spend the morning with the wonderful Baxter. They enjoyed taking him out for a walk, talking about and looking at the toys that Baxter plays with and even feeding him a little carrot treat.

And on Friday, Class 2 were enjoying their forest school session and had fun outside making potions, exploring autumn vegetables and then chopping and cooking the raw vegetable to make pumpkin soup.
