Today all of the classes had the opportunity to join in a Bonfire event. It was the first really cold day this winter, but it was lovely and bright and sunny - perfect for a bonfire!
Teacher Anna had set up the fire pit in the gardens between our buildings and groups of children came along, wrapped up warm, and taken part in keeping the fire burning and toasting marshmallows.
Children had been learning about why we celebrate the 5th November as Guy Fawkes’ Night in this country, with bonfires and fireworks - can you spot him in the fire below?
They also had the chance to practise independence skills around being safe around a fire - an important life skill.
At lunchtime, some staff went out to enjoy there fresh air and fire pit too!
We would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff who came with pupils and who have helped make today a massive success - an especially to Anna from bringing her camp craft skills into school again.
All the children really enjoyed the experience and the marshmallows.
Happy Bonfire Night to everyone - enjoy the spectacles and treats, but most importantly, Keep Safe!
