Half Term Activity

Whilst most members of the Newfield family are enjoying the autumn half term break, some staff have continued to work or volunteer.

Family Wellbeing Coordinators have been supporting families, attending meetings and also on Monday took our harvest donations down to the Blackburn Foodbank.

There was so much food that they had to take 2 cars, but the Foodbank staff were very grateful and say this will really support local families who are struggling.

Today, teachers Anna and Helen T went into school to look at how we can do some willow weaving to create some fencing to start zoning areas in the grounds.

Headteacher Rachel joined them, along with former staff member Helen C who has kindly volunteered her time for three mornings to help with this - she’s a willow weaving expert!

There will be the chance for pupils to come out on a Wednesday morning for the next two weeks with staff to give it a go and further enhance our grounds, using the willow we’ve grown and harvested - fantastic, environmentally friendly fencing!

Here’s a photo of all the ladies hard at work this week - we hope everyone else is having fun and relaxing in the autumn sunshine.
