World Mental Health Day 2022

Today we celebrated World Mental Health day across school. We begin this morning with a staff wellbeing breakfast, hosted by the wonderful Sharon, Chris and Alison - where staff enjoyed a cuppa, some toast and a catch up with colleagues, before beginning another busy week!

When the children arrived, they have all taken part in activities in classes that they enjoy for their well being. In A3, some of the boys were using the computer to colour pictures and practise the fine art of turn taking!

In the afternoon, some pupils went in the hall, where they played games, did colouring, used laptops, danced and did karaoke.

They also had a table with loads of different coloured play dough so that they could get creative.

Our pupils and staff over at the school for Autism Shadsworth satellite provision have also taken part in activities this afternoon for well being day.

They talked about things that make us happy and looked at photos of the pupils participating in activities that they enjoy on our poster.

They then watched Frozen, ate popcorn and enjoyed relaxing activities such as blowing bubbles and playing with playdough.

Lots of the pupils enjoyed being with their friends.

We take our mental health and wellbeing very seriously at Newfield, so it was a great day for pupils and staff to think about what they do to make themselves and each tore happy!

Happy World Mental Health Day!
