Learning and Growing

Pupils all across school are busy learning and taking part in many opportunities to develop.

In S1 as part of the theme all around the world, they have been learning about the Great Barrier Reef this week as part of their topic work on Oceania.

They have made their own coral to create a coral reef, explored the texture and tentacles of jelly fish, then made their own, and have been using water colours to paint tropical fish - all very beautiful!

Logan has been doing some intensive interaction this week - the parrot copied what he was doing and saying and Logan, as you can see in the photo absolutely loved it!

Some of our older pupils have been taking part in ‘Buddies’ where they pair up with a younger child and work with them - this not only gives our little children some great role models, but also gives our older pupils some work experience and they really enjoy the responsibility as well as building relationships. They have been helping little ones go for a walk, enjoy a book, put on their aprons to paint and using utensils to cook!

Whether they are learning to communicate, about different parts of the world, how to be creative, or how to be independent and helpful, our children all have one thing in common - they LOVE learning!
