A Busy Week Learning

It’s been a busy 2nd week in school - Our youngest pupils in class 1 have all had fun exploring ‘India’. They made a baked bean curry which was delicious and so easy and tasty to make. They enjoyed splashing in puddles with our wellies and waterproofs on and we loved playing music from around the world.

Some students enjoyed getting back to doing some sensory integration work - bouncing, swinging and scooting around - which helps them to feel happy and calm.

We also held our first school council meeting with our new head teacher, Rachel, attending to answer lots of questions about herself.

Also attending the meeting were Mathilde and AnnMarie, our Family Wellbeing Coordinators, who came to ask the members for their ideas about getting parents even more involved in school life, for the Leading Parent Partnership Award.

We discussed lots of things about school from school lunches to what resources we need in school and we also updated our RRSA charters, ensuring that all pupils have a ‘voice’ in school and that this is always heard.

We were very excited to set up our new ‘Life skills Room’ in the Atrium, which contains lights, music, fans, disco lights, a bubble tube and foot spa - all of which can be controlled by asking ‘Alexa’ to turn them on, off or change colour!

Terence and Minhaj were the very first people to use it - they even beat the head teacher Rachel, and deputy Vicki to it - and then went and got them to show them how it works - a very exciting addition to school!

It’s been a very busy and rewarding week - we wish everyone a lovely weekend, where we will all be spending tie with our loved ones and thinking about saying goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II.
