Today it was the turn of our oldest students in the SEND area of school to complete day one of their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition.
It was a beautiful sunny, warm day, so everyone set off, hats and sun cream in hand, very excited to do some exploring!
Student have been working hard to complete the four sections of the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.
The awards encourages young people to get involved in exciting challenges, promoting teamwork, self-discipline and independence.
Students have had a great day doing their first day of the expedition, made it around the whole of Brockholes nature reserve in the heat.
They have been challenged by difficult terrain, taken their own photographs, done some map reading, coped with the extreme heat and are looking forward to day two tomorrow.
