Duke of Edinburgh - Autism Expedition Day 1 & Bushcraft Activities

Pupils from A13 and A14 have completed day one of their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition.

They started off by contributing to a community Art butterfly project then followed a picture map of Burrs country park.

Pupils continued their walk along the Kirklees trail where they stopped for lunch in the park.

Pupils got involved with putting up a tarp and cooking noodles on the stove.

Back at school they were joined by pupils from the SEND TG classes to take part in an afternoon of outdoor survival activities.

We toasted marshmallows at the fire pit to make s’mores, put up tents, prepared our own tea, made hot drinks on the stoves and enjoyed a campfire singalong.

Everyone enjoyed the event, trying something new and challenging ourselves.
