Preparing for the Jubilee

All over the country people are planning parties and celebration to join in with the festivities for the 70th Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth ascending to the throne of Great Britain.

In school, we are preparing for the Jubilee in classes, with children using putting their skills to good use - making decorations, crowns and practising baking and all kinds of things to make our street party extra special.

In TG1 they have painted some flags onto planters and then planted a variety of flower seeds in them. They are hoping to have a lovely display of blooms to brighten the outside space soon.

In S3 pupils have been using their senses to explore and have been preparing for the Queens Jubilee by making lots of craft items to wear and to decorate the tables.

Thinking of our feast, some children have been making a bread and butter pudding fit for a queen, when they turned fruit t-cakes into a delicious dessert. They had some custard left was we baked in a ‘Bain Marie’ - our French friend, wellbeing coordinator Mathilde was very impressed when Suha told her and Rayyaan absolutely loved the custard and wants us to all make it again for him to have at snack time.

We can’t wait for the party to begin!
