Transition Event - Where do we go from here?

Our family wellbeing coordinators Ann Marie and Mathilde organised the “Where Do We Go From Here” Transitions Event for families of pupils in Year 9 and above. What a fantastic turn out!

We had 23 different service providers from Colleges, Leisure Providers, Social Care and local voluntary organisations who all provided information to our families - and we all enjoyed a cuppa and a chat as well.

We have received wonderful, positive feedback from the families who attended and from the services themselves.

It is so reassuring to know that following a really difficult couple of years, Blackburn with Darwen still has lots to offer to our Young People once they leave Newfield.

We are committed to building our relationships with these service providers and informing you when anything new is introduced.

We are very much hoping that this will become an annual event.

In return, if you as parents and carers, hear of any new groups, services or activities, please do not hesitate to share this with Mathilde and Ann Marie so that we can share the information with all our Newfield Families.

A big thank you to all of you who supported this year’s event.

So pleased that the Transition Event went so well - clearly parents and pupils enjoyed themselves and the partners spoke so well of staff and the school. There was a real buzz and it is typical of the extraordinary ethos that you as staff create at Newfield.
