Eid Celebrations 2022

This week, after a month of fasting during Ramadan, many of our families enjoyed spending time at home to celebrate Eid.

Today, we held our own special Eid celebrations in school. Staff and pupils invited to wear their own party clothes and there were events going on in both studios and the hall.

In the morning there were sensory events in the studios where children could explore items linked to Eid and Islam, try on clothes, stick stars on and make their own telescopes to look at the moon, taste fruits and be immersed in the sights and sounds of Eid..

There was a lunch with a special pudding of Eid biscuits and classes had made artwork and table decorations to decorate classrooms and halls to create ambience.

In the afternoon Yahya sang a call to prayer and Shammas read a Happy Eid message and then there was an Eid disco, with lots of lively music, dancing and Bollywood moves!

There was also Henna hand painting available for secondary and post 16 students to make them extra glamorous!

Everyone had a lovely time and we want to say a big Eid Mubarak to everyone, and special thanks to our newly appointed Associate Assistant Head, Katrina and her amazing team of Eid volunteers who have been busy organising crafts and sensory items for the events, as well as making sweetie cones for every child in school to take home - Amazing Newfield Family!
