Scientific Learning is Fun!

In the school for SEND we’ve been learning about our amazing bodies for our theme this half term.

Students in TG1 were learning about what happens to our hearts when we rest and when we exercise. Nurse June came in to help us use the blood pressure machine and also brought stethoscopes in so everyone could listen to their hearts beating.

S2 have been learning about the circulatory system. We have explored how the heart pumps blood around the body and made our own sets of lungs out of straws and food bags to demonstrate how they fill and empty when we breathe in and out .

And just for fun, as part of our theme about our body in S1 we looked at our face and in a communication session we played splat - everyone found it hilarious!
