Welcome Back to School - 2022

A happy new year to everyone as we start a new term in school.

Staff had a training day on Tuesday and then we were delighted to have our children back in on Wednesday.

There were lots of very happy faces and smiles, a few sleepyheads after the nice long break but everyone was raring to go and get back into learning and joining in activities with their friends.

Today S4 have been looking at themselves. They’ve been finding their own faces and then looking at how they would look with their classmates noses, hair, eyes or mouth!

TG1 followed instructions to practice making scrambled eggs this morning. Everyone agreed they were easy to make and delicious. they are going to include them on their cafe specials when they open for business again next week.

We are looking forward to a happier January and will be doing some of the things suggested on the calendar poster from Action For Happiness below - why don’t you try some too?

We were also very happy to welcome our new interim headteacher, David Terry, into school. Dave is getting to know all the staff and children.

The welcome that I have received has been fantastic and already, although very early days, I have seen first-hand what makes Newfield such a special place for all our young people… I genuinely believe that working in partnership with parents is at the heart of the school experience and I look forward to meeting with you over the months to come.
