Today pupils at Newfield school honoured Remembrance day, decorating doors, classes and corridors alongside our tree with poppies.
Post-16 pupils and the school nursing team attended a special assembly to explain the importance of remembrance, particularly in a world where there are so few who do remember the conflicts of the early 20th century.
Anna Heywood began our periods of reflective silence, playing the ‘last post’ on her trumpet in the school for Autism atrium and on a live feed, so that everyone in school could listen and participate in their own way.
Children have been completing lovely art work and also enjoyed a pretty poppy topped cake for lunch from our catering team.
