Busy Bees in S2

S2 have been reading the bee man and have been doing lots of activities around bees, beehives, honeycomb and honey.

We had a team challenge in class to build as many hexagon cells to make as we could using art straws and the ball and sticks construction set to make a giant honeycomb.

We have been following instructions on a YouTube tutorial to make pipecleaner bees and did some rock painting.

We have also looked at, felt and tasted some local honey as part of the topic and are continuing our work next week to look at how bees pollinate flowers.
