World Book Day 2021 part II

Well what a fantastic World Book Day we have had - in school and virtually!

Lots of staff and children dressed up as their favourite characters.

Everyone took part in the Big Read - enjoying what the ladybird heard and lots of related activities. Children in school and at home were able to make their own ladybird puppets, join in the story, join an online session with Danielle and Shannon about the story what the ladybird heard on holiday and take part in a sound session and a beach session, which you can see some children in school joined in with alongside their peers learning at home - great blended learning.

What a busy day celebrating books and reading - we love stories! HLTA Dawn did a live action version of the Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle which is also available on our YouTube channel.

Our fantastic catering team had even made a special lunch for the occasion - and write a poem all linked to the Big Read story - a lovely farm picnic with pigs in mud and ladybird cakes - absolutely amazing!

Thank you to everyone involved in making this special - lockdown - World Book Day 2021 so fantastic - different from our usual gathering together but equally amazing!
