Online Learning at Home - Early Years

HLTA Dawn reports that it has been a really positive week of online sessions and supported learning.

Class 1 and 2 sessions this week on Microsoft Teams have been all about Jack and the Beanstalk.

On Tuesday we read the story with lots of messy play, sounds and physical activities involved, singing, playing with beans and shaving foam and climbing our own beanstalks!

On Friday we had a ‘show and tell’ session:

We had a ‘what’s in the box?’ activity - items inside the box for us to ‘find’ and then sing songs/rhymes about, items related to our story.

This was followed by the children supported by their parents telling us and showing us what they had been doing throughout the week.

Mustafa had celebrated his cousins birthday and had joined in with activities at home, Haider had celebrated his 5th birthday yesterday – lots of video calls from family and some nice gifts, he loves his ‘walkie talkie’ and Rameez has been busy with activities as well as singing and dancing.

Dawn told everyone that she had made ‘Jack on Toast’ (see photo), a nice little activity for snack times at home!!

After singing Happy Birthday to Haider and a saying a big well done to everyone we said ‘goodbye’, ready for ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ next week.

A very successful session…the children all joined in, it was amazing to see.

We have asked parents to send in any photographs that could be used for the blog, as we’d love to share what you are doing at home with everyone!
